Dreams are a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and purpose of dreams is not well understood, although it has been the subject of scientific speculation, and the interesting topics of philosophy and religion, throughout history. The scientific study of dreams called oneirology.
Dreams occur mainly at the stage of rapid-eye (REM) sleep, when the movement of high brain activity and resemble a wake. REM was revealed by the continuous movement of the eyes during sleep. Sometimes, dreams may occur during other stages of sleep. However, these dreams tend to be far less obvious or easy to remember.
Dreams can last for several seconds, or for twenty minutes. People are more likely to remember it when they woke up during the REM phase. The average person has about 3 to 5 dreams per night, but some may have up to 7 dreams in one night. These dreams tend to last longer with the progress of the night. During the 8-hour sleep a full night, two hours could be spent dreaming.
Dream has been viewed as a connection to the subconscious. Starting from the normal and usual for real and too weird. Dreams can have different properties, such as scary, exciting, magical, melancholic, or adventurers. Events in dreams is generally beyond the control of the dreamer, with the exception of a dream, in which the dreamer is conscious of self. Dreams sometimes can make a creative mind happens to that person or provide a sense of inspiration.
